Yogurt For Weight Loss: Can It Work?

By  M Edward

I bet we all are aware that we eat badly so when I write about yogurt for weight loss, you are likely to read on. First, because you are probably overweight, or you know a friend who is, you are just curious. A lot of the beverages we drink starting with sodas, tea and coffee are packed with calories. And nearly 90 per cent of us consume one if not all of them in a day. Then we keep asking ourselves why it is so hard to lose weight or why we keep adding it unnecessarily. I am not advising you to stop taking them, but to be quite watchful as you do so by minimizing them. So today let's look at a drink that can help you lose weight, some yogurt.

How it works

The first step in understanding a weight loss plan lies in how it works, so let's see how the yogurt works in making you lose weight. The first way is by making sure you remain fuller for longer hours. This is made possible by the high protein content found in the yogurt. This is particularly good because it fills you up but with fewer calories.

Similarly, yogurt is a drink, thus in the process, it ensures that you do not stay dehydrated and have enough water. Water plays an essential role in enhancing the body's metabolic system and eventually burning up fats. But do not get it twisted, when experts talk about eight to ten glasses of water in a day, it has nothing to do with yogurt, they recommend water in its plain form.

Advantages

The very major advantage you have when taking yogurt other than the rest of the beverages is that you consume fewer calories. You definitely are far much better than a person taking sodas to quench their thirst. And you know the trick when it comes to losing weight; it's all about limiting your calorie intake. The other advantage is that yogurt contains protein and as it makes you fuller for longer; the body is continually burning up energy and finding no need to store up energy.

You definitely can make your yogurt at how meaning that you can make it as natural as possible. In this form, it contains probiotics which will also be helping your body fight microorganisms and improve your digestive system.

Disadvantages

We probably do not have the means to make yogurt naturally so we will go and get a packet at the supermarket. Don't say I never warned you since this kind of yogurt is often packed with lots of sugar and will eventually lead in you consuming a lot of calories not good for you.

Yet still, do not over do it. Even the natural yogurt does contain some sugar which will not be good if consumed in bulk. It might as well make you add weight than lose it. When you weigh these options, you will know whether yogurt for weight loss is good for you.

CJE-500 Compact Juice Extractor

By George Barendse

The Finest Juicer On The Market!

You will love this Juicer and it will be your favorite of all your kitchen appliances. Not only will you use it to make orange juice, but you will be experimenting with tomatoes, strawberries, apples, pineapple, and cherries.

Every day you will discover new uses for this wonderful Cuisinart CJE-500 Compact Juice Extractor, the best one on the market for this reasonable price.

You will wonder how you ever got along without it!

Processed juice leaves about 95% of the vitamins and other healthy residues from just picked fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes and oranges. Absorbing processed juice is the quickest and most useful method for your body to take in and process all of those nutrients. Taking in ripe fruits can take almost sixty minutes;processed juices take only one quarter of an hour. Immediately you can make these mouthwatering, healthy juices and more right in your kitchen using the Cuisinart Compact Juice Extractor.

Process your fruits and veggies by pressing just one button on the Cuisinart Compact Juice Extractor. The CJE-500 has been made for ongoing juicing so anyone can juice all veggies and fruits from soft items such as tomatoes to denser fruits such as hard peaches. When filled, the pulp container can be taken off, emptied and replaced to continue juicing. You are able to juice straight into your own 8-ounce glass or into the 16-ounce juice container. You can obtain mess-free juicing as well with the by hand controlled flow spout which can be adjusted. You can make all your favorites or discover new ones with the included recipe pamphlet.

The pulp repository, juice bottle, jacket and filter basket/blade collection can all be removed and washed in your dishwasher, making cleaning a snap. A cleansing brush is also provided to get rid of excess pulp found in the filter basket/blade parts and the cover. With its condensed size, it will be suitable to any kitchen. Make your own juice bar in your home with the Cuisinart Compact Juice Extractor.

I have now used this juicer for several weeks and I must say I have been impressed with the advantage of making so many different juices. Another positive is that this juicer is so easy to clean. It takes me about thirty minutes total to do the juicing and clean all the components in the sink. My only disappointment is that if you are going to make sufficient juice for two it is to your advantage to use a measuring cup that you can place beneath the spout since there is many times a large bunch of foam that stays in the top part of the large case that came with the machine.

I really like juices made with fresh veggies or fruits. I didn't think there was an inexpensive, compact juicer available that would enable me to make these at home. I have uses the juicer for about week, have done six of the recipes stated in the enclosed booklet and I know I'll be juicing often until it breaks. The juicer fits our counter very tightly, does not stand out, and is extremely soundless keeping in mind that it's actually a chipper for tomatoes, oranges, etc. After he original cleaning (the booklet does not tell you that you are required to cleanse the head on the Cuisinart shell), consequently it is very easy (requires approximately 2 minutes, which I accomplish during the time that I allow the juice to cool in the refrigerator before using it).

In summary, the Cuisinart CJE-500 Compact Juice Extractor is a fine juicer! I use it every day to prepare healthy drinks for the entire family and plan to continue using it for a long time.

Discover a Diet for Hypothyroidism

By Marley Carley

People with thyroid disorders like hypothyroidism need to modify their diets to ensure that they are getting the right nutrition on a daily basis. One of the most crucial tasks of a thyroid patient is to determine what kinds of food will help normalize his body, and which types of food will be detrimental to his condition and to his health in general. Today's discussion will center on both sides of the coin, so you will be well-informed by the time you are ready to make the necessary changes to your diet.

1. The first thing you have to do if you want to implement an effective diet for hypothyroidism is to weed out the secret "thyroid killers" in your current diet. Thyroid killers are food items that cause havoc with your body's natural hormone balance.

Processed foods are at the very top of the list of foods that you should not touch at all. 99% of all processed foods contain common preservatives that have dire side effects over the long term.

Thyroid patients tend to experience symptoms of hormonal imbalance more quickly than people who don't have thyroid disorders, so it is best to steer clear of these food items altogether. You should also pay attention to fruits and vegetables that are goitrogenic.

Examples of these whole foods are cruciferous vegetables, and leafy vegetables like spinach. Goitrogenic foods contain chemical compounds that also disturb the natural hormone balance of the body and thus, their consumption should also be limited.

2. Avoid food items that are high in refined sugar (or any type of commercial sugar) and syrups. HFCS or high fructose corn syrup is a common sweetener used in many food products, from cookies to soft drinks. People who have hypothyroidism can't afford to gain more weight, because the extra pounds are more difficult to shed off due to their low BMR, or basal metabolic rate. Sugary items also cause spikes in a person's blood glucose levels. Opt for natural sweeteners, like stevia and honey, instead. If you are hankering for chocolate, mix yourself of a batch of warm chocolate from cocoa powder sweetened with stevia or honey. Limit your intake of candy, because it is so easy to go over single servings when you are munching on a familiar treat.

3. If you want a good source of usable protein, iron, selenium, iodine, and zinc, opt for free-range poultry and grass-fed beef. Organic meats are still the best source of protein, according to established medical research. As long as you stick to the right servings, meat should bring more benefits than disadvantages.

4. In order to speed up your metabolism, you need to split your meals into five to six smaller meals spread evenly throughout the day. Don't skip meals, and definitely avoid starving yourself, because the wider the gap between meals, the slower your metabolism gets. This is the one diet secret that many people still don't know. Eating less frequently will not help you lose weight. Eating small, frequent meals will!
