Why Make Your Own Iced Tea

By Alex Oceanic

Why should you make your own iced tea?

This is a question that many would ask when advised that homemade iced tea is better for store bought.

Many would think it much more convenient to go the store, buy the tea already pre-made in a big jug and be done with it. But have you thought about what is in that jug? What kind of chemicals and preservatives are in that store bought tea that give its the ability to last for so long? It is simply not natural for good food to last months and years at a time when it is not frozen or dried out.

Recently there was an artist who put a McDonald's hamburger on her shelf, and let it self for months on end. It never grew any bacteria on it. No mold, nothing. It's practically cardboard? It is so far from food that mold doesn't even want to consume it, and yet we eat this everyday and it sits in our stomachs and gives us energy. No wonder so many people are eating so much, because they food they choose has no nutrition for proper energy.

What I'm trying to say is that we should take care to make more of our own food for maximum nutrition and energy throughout the day.

When an apple is ready to eat, it doesn't last forever, it rots, becomes compost, and then makes the soil healthier. That is the circle of life.

Tea is an important beverage because it has many powerful nutrients and antioxidants in it that are healthy for our bodies, but when we buy store-bought, many of those nutrients are lost. Instead our iced tea is fill with added sugar, preservatives, MSG, and other chemicals that do us no good.

With the ability to make our own tea, we have the whole world of tea to select for our brand, quality, and flavor. In the store we can only make what they offer. There are thousands of teas to choose from.

We can choose green tea, black tea, white tea, oolong tea, and then the whole range of herbal teas like peppermint and licorice. Then there are sub categories below that like pomegranate green tea, mint green tea, energy green tea, etc. There are thousands to choose from.

When we buy tea in bulk we can actually save money, instead of buying the tea from the store every week, buy some tea in bulk and you can be set for months on end.

It is also fun trying out all the flavors, brewing to your desired strength, and adding different kinds of natural sweeteners that you like. Your options are endless and you will be left with a more natural, healthy beverage for you and your family to consume.
